About six kilometers long, Nanjing Road is the longest and busiest shopping street in Shanghai. The west end of this long stretch of malls, restaurants, cafes and speciality shops is around JingAn Temple, where it's known as Nanjing West Road (Nan Jing Xi Lu). It extends all the way east until the Bund / HuangPu riverfront. The segment from the People's Square to the Bund is known as Nanjing East Road (Nan Jing Dong Lu).
