Terracotta Army  ·  兵马俑

Type:  Historical, Cultural

The world famous Terracotta Army was raised more than two thousand years ago (210 BC) during the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Thousands of soldiers, chariots and horses made from clay were buried with the Emperor to guard him in the after life. Amazingly, this vast underground army laid untouched for millennia until its discovery in 1974 by farmers drilling a water well.
